It’s trout time; the birds are singing it, and the flowers are showing it.  RiverQuest guide Don Graham and I enjoyed a well deserved “guides’ day out” on the river. For whatever reason, the large trout bite was nonexistent for us, but the little guys entertained us all day long.  Would we have loved to bring a 20+ brown to hand? Absolutely!  Would we have loved to post a pic of one of our pounder browns?  You bet!  But, if we’ve learned anything from fly fishing just a few years and guiding a decade, it’s that we’ve learned to accept what the river gives. Today, it was the osprey, turkeys, a groundhog, waterfowl, small trout, and wild flowers.  And for that, Don and I were most grateful.
