A cold snowy day for the hardcore steelhead junkie! Winter storm warnings and well…less than great weather conditions were in store for Dan and Bill on the river today. When I asked Dan if he was sure he wanted to go he replied ” can’t catch them from my office”; what do you say to that; true? Slightly higher water conditions have improved the overall fishabilitly of the river. We are now finally only about 200-300 cfs below normal; which is still sizable but considering what it has been I will take it. The water is still very clear so light tippets are the norm. One nice steelhead tried to spur our cold souls today but fell considerably short of the net.
