Kevin Schrock and his daughters boy friend Nate joined me on this cold November day on the Muskegon River chasing chrome. Finally a great day of fishing! Today was Nate’s first steelhead trip and with the notion of “tough love” from the steelhead gods he was ready for the long haul. Well- this could be expected but not today- Nate’s second cast brought a solid jerk and it was on…. After a very nice fight he had landed a nice chrome steelhead. With his first fish coming with relative ease he was filled with expectations. Kevin being the seasoned angler showed critical line management will yield dividends- Kevin managed four beautiful chrome steelhead and a walleye to boot! Steelhead orange eggs along clown and hot pink brought the fish to the net. I must say that “humble pie” doesn’t taste very good and that I am glad to be on a new path. Pictured are Kevin and Nate with some very nice fish.

Tight lines,

Capt. Steven Kuieck
