Lets try that again

Friday the 13th….I’m not a superstitious guy but today was flat out weird! Joining me today was Dr. Kenneth Peters and his nephew Andrew, a soon to be graduating senior at Western Michigan University. A beautiful day on the river was in store for us today with a bounty of November sunshine and light traffic on the river. The weird part of the comes in with the steelhead behavior again needing a serious check-up! The past few days of on-and-off bites did not play through today, in fact this mornings bite was completely non-existent!  This coming after yesterdays great success surely brought pause to my game plan. Our first fish today came as I was preparing to cook lunch. While we ate lunch  I decided go back and re-work all of the mornings water. This plan paid out and the afternoon bite saved the day. Picture above is Dr. Peters with his first ever fly rod steelhead.

I will be taking some much needed time off from the river to join my father and brother for some much anticipated time in a tree. I will be back on the water Wednesday with chrome photo shoots to follow.
