Matt Darby and his daughter Jenna- 10yrs old joined me on the Manistee for a great day of father/child fishing. Fishing could not have been for the trip with beautiful sunshine and plentiful numbers of salmon. Egg patterns, caddis , hexes, and antron stone flies all produced shots at the net. Jenna was able to land 2 very nice salmon all by herself and had many other opportunities that fell short of the net. While Matt was able to enjoy some great quality time with his daughter I am quite positive that his mind will wander to the truly awesome fall steelhead that went airborne and quickly parted company with us in a nasty log jam. I hope the quality of this fish is a sign of great things to come later this fall.
