With summer taking a serious hiatus from the UP of Michigan temperatures struggled to make 55 degrees with a big North wind coming off Superior. Seriously it is the 6th of July and some one please tell Mother Nature!

Atlantic salmon are arriving in the “Soo” with a diet consisting of nymphs and bait fish. Deep water indy fishing and stripping streamers are producing nearly all of the action. Today the bite was all on nymphs while streamers brought a few looks without a hook up. The day finished very well 4 of 6 Atlantic’s finding their way to the photo shoot. Look for fishing to get better everyday as insect hatches stabilize with warming temperatures.
