Dry fly fishing on the Muskegon the last two nights has been good; Isonychia are taking center stage with only a few drakes on the water. As it goes with Iso’s fishing can be very good; this however is the norm when the trout are not gorged with other food. Trout have been highly selective lately with numerous well placed drifts being necessary. While this may play to the sounds of tough fishing there are some very nice trout sipping every night!

Joining me Monday was Dick and Gene my eldest customers both in there 80’s and fishing as much as possible. Dick caught a beautiful brown as light was fading on a Iso dun pattern that taped 16.5. Last evening Bill and Charlie joined me and Bill took this very respectable rainbow well after sunset on an Iso dun.
