Ken Longstreet and John from Hermin Miller joined me yesterday for another beautiful day on the river. Fishing was all about Ken this year (they seem to trade off year to year). Though the morning bite was fast the landing ratio was terrible. The guys pulled it together in the afternoon and started bring the fish to net. Small natural nymphs were key.

Dr. Tom Lambert and Captain Doug fished with me today on yet another sunny warm day. This extremely nice weather has taken a big toll on the steelhead numbers and water levels. Fishing is going to be challenging until we get some clouds and rain for our next push of fish. Despite the conditions a few choice “A” locations are producing big numbers of fish. Small nymphs were again key today. Medium size streamers and tubes are getting looks on drop backs.

Tight lines,

Steve
