Pleasant day on the Muskegon today—sunny skies, clearing water, wonderful company, and some willing steelhead to boot. Friend and neighbor Dick and his pastor Jerry joined me for a repeat of their performance of last spring. 2009 was Jerry’s day; today, it was Dick’s turn to shine. Dick holds a buck he brought to hand. Our landing percentage left room for improvement, but we had plenty of action until later in the day when we couldn’t coax a take from the dark water we probed. Pale egg flies, stones, and caddis were our best patterns. Thanks, guys, for a most enjoyable day!
