Gorgeous day on the Muskegon River yesterday, though the 80 degree temp at day’s end was a bit much! Jennifer, Paul’s daughter, had never touched a fly rod until then, and I must say, she took after fly rod experienced Dad in catching on to the cast, drift, and fish fighting in very short order. Her reward was multiple hookups and her first Chinook salmon brought to net. Proud as punch Paul scored as well. So cool to host people who love the outdoors and to watch them marvel at the spectacle of the fall salmon run. In short, a delightful, satisfying day in which I had the pleasure of helping make a family memory sure to be long remembered.
