We’re into November and it seems like we’re still waiting on good numbers of steelhead to show up. We had a big bump in flows, about an inch of rain, over weekend and that should help bring more steelhead into the system.
The swing game, right now, is seeing about 3 to 4 steelhead grabs a trip with the trout being much more cooperative. As we move into late November and December, the numbers will improve.
On another note, The Michigan Natural Resources Commission recently approved a 1 limit daily take for steelhead on the Muskegon. This has been a long time coming. The regulation will take effect starting April 1, 2024 and will only help to improve the numbers in the system.
