The name of the game lately has been fishing the “In-Between”. We’re seeing periods of great activity and then a lull in the smallmouth activity and then it picks back up again. Water temps are on the mid 60’s and we’ve been getting action on topwater and sub-surface.
We’ve been getting the most activity on the old school Wooly Bugger, using Scientific Anglers I 2/3 and Tropical Clear. Their Bass Bug top water line paired with a Zudbubbler has seen the best topwater action.
The air quality has been pretty good, despite all the wildfire smoke and we continue to run trips.
Chris with a nice Muskegon River northern pike.
