And That’s a Wrap!

Last bass trip of the season for me, and Jim and Mary capped it off with just a perfect bass bugging day on the Muskegon River. Both are getting into fly fishing big time, and their enthusiasm, fabulous fall atmospherics, and some cooperative smallmouth bass made for a most delightful day. As the sun warmed the river, action predictably picked up with black and chartreuse poppers producing. Jim was determined all day to best Mary’s bass, and as I packed her rod at day’s end, Jim connected with the smallmouth he poses that edged the one Mary holds by an inch! The halo of light emanating from Jim couldn’t have been from my smudged camera lens—had to be a reflection of Jim’s charmed last cast!

Thanks, Jim and Mary! I’ll look back upon this day with a smile for a long time! Hope the same is true for you!
