T scores his first steelhead

Bye Bye winter, hello summer? The snow is vanishing quickly as temperatures climbed into the mid 60’s today. I must admit the sunburn I am feeling is quite welcome. Dirty water is the name of the game, and with the heavy snow pack to the North, I suspect it will continue. Steelhead fishing should be relatively easy with the current numbers of fish in the system, but the dirty water making it challenging. Stone flies were very active today, but I suspect the fish are not seeing them easily. Leeches and colorful egg patterns are the ticket fished delicately through the tricky water. Joining me today was long-time guest and friend Toren Prawdzik. Toren has long been a trout bum, but today we introduced him to some larger trout–his first steelhead. Pictured is Toren with a couple of his steelhead from today.
