We certainly don’t choose to swing flies off the two-hander because its the simplest way to catch a steelhead. We choose to swing flies simply because its not the easiest! Here are some of my top reasons for why I love to swing.
–A challenge, constently evolving, similiar to playing chess
–the angler has a direct connection to the take, when a fish grabs the fly its similiar to a big fish smashing a lure
–allows me to fish waters that couldn’t be easily nymphed
–its addicting, watch out if you’re prone to obsessions
–and finally, just look at that rod bend!!!
