The chill is back

Yesterdays temperature of 63 degrees sure was nice, but short lived–reality check, back to the mid-thirties this afternoon. With the cold winds blowing and the big dity-water, I knew we’d have our work cut out for us today. Good anglers go the distance in these conditions and I was glad to have Brian at the plate today. Pictured is Brian with a beautiful hen steelhead beneath our 5 minutes of nice weather today.

The river has risen to a big 4900cfs (3pm reading). Despite its extremely cold water, spring steelhead are on the move. Plan to see alot of people working the same waters under these conditions–play nice and everyone will enjoy the new chrome.
