“Sweeter as the Days Go By!”

Last day with the Murphy group today, and what a day it was: warming temperatures, eager steelhead, and, believe it or not, afternoon sunshine.  Jay, Don, and I had a terrific time with the guys and hope we can connect on the Muskegon again in the future.  Mark, whose pic for some reason wouldn’t show up on the site yesterday, hoists a gorgeous fresh run hen, while David, who lost steelhead yesterday, kicked the day off with the late winter fish he holds. Included, too, are steelhead that found their way into Jay’s boat and Don’s.

Look for the spring steelhead run on the Muskegon to intensify. As one guide who lives near the lower Muskegon and who checks on it regularly told me this afternoon, “Lots of fresh fish coming from the lower river, Tom.” Great news for all who love these spectacular gamefish!  Indeed, if the action the Murphy group has had over the last two days is any indicator of the good times ahead, we should have quite a run in the days to come!
