Pocket water trout & smallmouth closers

The fishing on the Muskegon is poised for change. Cool weather has the water temps dropping and salmon on the move. Noticeably, the trout and smallies seem to have discomfort with sharing space with their new out-sized river companions. That said, the buffet of caddis in the waiving river grass is providing quality pocket-water nymphing. Dry fly fishing is sporadically available too. Smallmouth fishing remains consistent and keep things moving along when the trout get moody. Pictured are a couple shots from yesterday in my boat and today in Dave’s.
