“No Man Is an Island / Entire of Itself…..”

Thought of the 16th century poet, John Donne, and these the opening lines to his iconic poem of the same title when— after searching and casting, searching and casting, and searching and casting for some three hours without a steelhead hookup for my guys Pat and Chad—I called fellow RiverQuest guide Jay Allen for some of his as yet unchecked location options.  Not only did Jay offer some ideas, he suggested we work our way up to where he was fishing to give it a shot.  Beautiful!  It’s this kind of “I help you; you help me” collaboration and cooperation that makes serving as a RiverQuest guide such a wonderful experience.  It’s all “Team, Team;” truly no RiverQuest guide is an island; he has the support of the other four guides suggesting locations to fish, flies to toss, and tackle tips to maximize success.  All five of us are truly a “part of the main.”

And so, here’s a sample of the results:  terrific action and happiness all ’round.  Thanks much, Jay! You gave two great guys one heck of a memory (and me, too!).
