Muskegon River Trout – 12/19/12

Fishing for trout on the MO was good today. Water temps are still above what normally will put trout into their winter runs. This means a lower metabolism but fish still spread out quite well. Fishing for trout at this stage requires a good drift and moving around quite a bit. Persistence will pay off in areas that are known to be holding fish. Also, water that is somewhere between summer feeding positions and winter are well worth fishing. The tough job of weeding through all the first year hold-overs was worth it for John who landed the nice bow pictured above.
