Massachusetts Meets Michigan

Last fall, Peter and his son Arioch, who live in Boston, fly fished with me for fall steelhead on the Muskegon River with good success. Arioch photographed my releasing his steelhead, and dad Peter enlarged and framed the pic which now hangs on his office wall. (The introduction to the October RiverQuest Charters/Muskegon River Lodge eZine (newsletter) includes that very picture.)

So, naturally, Arioch and I had to tease Peter about whether he was up to the challenge of getting his own released steelhead for the office wall—sort of a matched set kind of deal.  As the day turned out, Peter rose to the occasion and brought this steelhead to hand, only to have me release it as Arioch snapped the pic, just like he did last year on his! (Not sure why Peter’s pic came out so fuzzy; hope the one’s Arioch shot are fine.)  So, the wall set of son/father released steelhead are on their way!

Like everyone else fishing today, the rain gods saw fit to drench us in the afternoon, but just a wonderful day with this great father-son team, nonetheless.
