A little taste of fall on the Muskegon

Smallmouth fishing continues to be strong on the Muskegon River. This morning as the stream rose off the river a little taste of fall was certainly in the air. Undoubtedly, we will return to temperatures in the upper 70’s and low 80’s in the near future, but today’s taste certainly make the mind wonder to thoughts and rewards of fall fly fishing. Top-water action was strong until the front slid through and like a switch it was pretty much over until late afternoon.

Pictured is Bruce with a nice Muskegon River smallmouth bass.
