Extraordinary in Every Way

No cliche’: “It doesn’t get any better than this!” Pat and his good friend and business client, Chad, wrought some major havoc on the Muskegon River steelhead community today, all the while basking in near 70 degree temperatures, bright sunlight, and light breezes.  So good was the fishing that the guys passed on my grilling their lunch to settle on a less fuss, less muss, and less time consuming tossed salad, bread sticks, and garnishes. They worked the fly rods overtime, so much so that one of them (the rod, that is!) gave up the ghost on the last buck of the day. We managed to land the steelhead with Pat hanging onto the top third of the now broken rod, Pat reeling with the bottom third in hand, and my wheeling the boat here and there, only to ultimately net the trout.  In short, a smashing ending to a great day! I’m not much of an HC fan, but truly, it “took a villiage” to boat that one!  Thanks much, guys! Congrats on a steelhead trip that was extraordinary in every way.
