Double Trouble?

Uh, not so much! Double hookups on smallies TWICE? Yup!

So it was for self-proclaimed “novice” fly fishermen, Chicagoans Jared and Jeremy. Fly fishing poppers with RiverQuest guide Captain Don Graham, the guys got into the Muskegon River’s smallmouth big time. Don is a great fly casting teacher and soon those 25′ casts of the early morning were reaching out to fish catching lengths, and rewarded big time were Jared and Jeremy. Ten smallmouth brought to hand, and others missed on the take or lost spelled a great day on the water. Toss in some wonderful weather and zilch fishing pressure, and you have the makings for truly a special day of bass bugging. Best of all, at day’s end, the guys stepped out of Don’s boat with some well earned fly fishing skills they didn’t have when the day started, all of which must have made the drive back to Chicago a breeze!  Here Jared and Jeremy pose some smallmouth from today, the largest of which tugged the Boga Grip down to the four pound mark.
