Couple’s Day on the Muskegon River

Newly retired from the trucking company he and his wife Mary founded some years back, Jim is getting serious about fly fishing, now that he has some time on his hands.  Longtime customers and friends, Jim and Mary continue to grow their fly fishing skills with today’s growth—tossing poppers at the MO’s smallmouth bass.

Once again, Mary put on a clinic for Jim, who, after he got his casting MO JO going, missed on a couple of smashing takes but consoled himself with the junior edition he poses below.  How cool it is to host a couple so much in love with one another and so full of hope and expectation for this new retirement chapter in their lives!  I loved every minute of our day together and wish them the very best of times in the years to come—and, of course, the tightest of lines wherever they cast their flies.
