Our steelhead season will come to a close at the end of month when we’ll move to trout and smallmouth. This past week has been tough for steelhead, as the warmer then normal temps and angler pressure have the fish skittish. Despite that, we have been bringing steelhead to net.
We’ve been running smallmouth trips on some on West Michigan’s premier smallmouth tributaries, where the pre-spawn remains strong.
The upcoming week has us going colder again, which should help keep steelhead in the system as well as prolong the smallmouth pre-spawn. If you want to avoid the crowds and have a chance at a master angler smallmouth, now’s your time to shine so give us a call.
