High dirty water is the theme, but at least fishable. Good numbers of steelhead are present as our river transforms back to its normal size after record flood waters. I'm really not sure how long it will take to get any sort of clarity back...
Absolutely spectacular roaring blast of water and spray as the MO dumps literally tons of pent-up rainfall and snowmelt. This morning, RiverQuest guide Don Graham and I stood streamside witnessing this historic event first-hand, awed by the power and volume of the onrushing flow.

I really have no words to describe what I witnessed this morning on my way to check on the Lodge. The devastation from the winds in Grant yesterday was surprisingly understated by the news channels and the amount of water is almost unfathomable. In the...
Dr. Scott Burgess and his wife Denice joined me yesterday. Temperatures in the middle 60's and cooperative chrome made for an enjoyable day on the water. Try as we might Denice was not able to land her first steelhead. However she was certainly able to...
Today marked the final day of David Fox & Mort Perchick's 3 day pilgrimage to fish the mighty MO. The river is remaining stubbornly high, dirty and cold. However, we are gaining on it a little bit at a time. The fishing has steadily gotten...
Things are about to get real interesting on the Mo'. Water flows continue to drop and the water tempature has begun to climb–a balmy 36 degrees. Icy-chrome steelhead seemed a little more eager today–its about to break loose. Stay tuned...
Rusty and Boyd are back for their three-day annual spring steelhead trip. Fishing was pretty challenging today, however with these guys no challenge is too big.
The river has begun to drop and clear. Look for dramatic improvement in the very near term! Pictured is Boyd...
High, dirty spring water continues to be the prominent feature on The Mo'. Accompanying this high river are temperatures that are struggling to break 35°--things still aren't particularly easy. That being said, both spring and winter steelhead are present in good numbers throughout the system.
I...
Yesterdays temperature of 63 degrees sure was nice, but short lived–reality check, back to the mid-thirties this afternoon. With the cold winds blowing and the big dity-water, I knew we'd have our work cut out for us today. Good anglers go the distance in these...

Kenny getting the edge off…I never doubted you man
