Beautiful, They are…

Captain Don Graham hosted fellow fly fishing guide Bill and me for a guides’ day on the Muskegon River today.  Perfect conditions: overcast skies, light wind, and ideal river flows prompted the fish gods to smile on us as each of us brought steelhead to hand.  Great time with the guys, who in their inimitable fashion, once again smoked yours truly with a “gift” in tribute to my having lost my anchor this fall, later retrieved by Don and me.  Don suggested then I paint my anchor pink so we could find it more easily the next time I lose it! Well, the “gift” proved to be a  Christmas tree decoration fashioned by one or both of the guys:  your guessed it—a mini-pyramid anchor painted pink, of course, attached to the front half of a boat hull, complete with anchor winch!  Classic!  Thanks, guys, I guess!

Back to the steelhead: gorgeous they are, indeed.  Pictured are samples of fresh run and  fall run steelhead from today: both reflecting beauty that only natural world produces.  Oh, and Bill and Don may not be gorgeous, but they’re happy!
