Cliff Fox joined me today for a sunshine filled day on the Muskegon swinging spey flies for steelhead. With a full day of sunshine I new our early presentations would likely be the most productive in the lower light. We chose to fish some very productive transition water; we were not let down with this plan as a very heavy bright chrome took our offering in the first hour of fishing. As fishing goes this fish was extremely camera shy and parted our company prior to its photo shoot. A few more good pulls and a very nice river bow was had. Black leech patterns with liberal amounts cooper and green flash along with a hint of purple brought the action this morning. The fish today seemed to wait until the first strip after the line had completed its swing and rested at the bottom. With more sunshine and above average temperatures forecasted through Thursday morning look for the AM bite to be best. Afternoon nymphing behing the salmon beds provided some nice browns and bow action.

Tight lines,
