Before I get to the report for today I need to take a moment for a public thank-you to a couple great guys! As some of you know and for those who don’t, for the past couple weeks I have been dealing with some health issues. Those issues resulted in me being in and out of the hospital over the last two weeks and most recently for 4 days last week. During this time both Capt. Tom & Capt. Don stepped up to the plate, sometimes at the last minute, and filled in for me. These guys gave up much needed time off at the end of a long season to make sure that our RiverQuest guests never had to give up or reschedule their days on the water. It is a pleasure to have these 2 guys not only as business associates but mostly as good friends.

The good news is Monday afternoon I was given a clean bill of health, and after a couple days to finish recovering it was wonderful to be back on the water today.

Today I was joined by the Challa brothers Dan & Fred. The day started out with a bang and both had chrome in the net before 9:00. Once the sun hit the water things slowed down a bit, then the fun began! We were entertained by trees, stumps and even a stray canoe dragging the tree it used to be tied to floating down stream, as for some reason they decided to bless us with a water spike from 2450 fps to almost 6500 fps. Needless to say clarity went from a wonderful tea stain to almost chocolate milk, making fishing this afternoon difficult to say the least. All that aside it was a great day to get back into the swing of things for the fall steelhead season!
