Truly a memorable day on the MO today….
Had an absolutely wonderful day hosting Doug, Tim, and Todd, first for steelhead and then for salmon. The guys fished chrome for a couple of hours only to lose the steelhead Tim hooked when it screamed down river so fast his slack fly line wrapped around the butt of the rod and SNAP! Bye, bye steelhead. I assured Tim that we all have lost fall steelhead; they have a remarkable propensity to escape one way or the other. Key, though, was that the guys gave steelhead their best shot; it just wasn’t meant to be.
No problem; we switched to salmon and had a great time repeatedly hooking up. Pictured are Doug and Tim. The salmon are fading fast with fewer and fewer fresh fish in evidence. No matter; these two and others gave the guys all they could handle so a most enjoyable day was had by all. Thanks, guys, for a great day; hope we can do it again sometime.
