Sweet time with Dean and his friend, Earl, who is one big-time South Haven perch guy—some 3,400+ into his boat last year!  Fly fishing, though, was a new deal for him so we broke him in well, both with C & D and indie rigs.  Both guys proved proficient fishermen and caught on to all aspects of the game very well.

Salmon are moving into the latter stages of the spawn. Some newer fish may be found, but one needs to search for them—quite different from even a week ago.  Water clarity is excellent, even with the increased flows.  The only downside is the MO’s grass hatch, which, of course, proliferates when additional flow is released from Croton Dam as the operators are seemingly wont to do whenever.  Pictured are Earl with a buck and Dean with a hen.

Great time, guys; thanks much!  I enjoyed our time together a bunch.  Best wishes for continued success with your fishing.
