Despite record high temperatures, Bill and Ida Sidor joined me for a day trip on the Mo’. Conditions warranted switching up to an evening trip, but an even obligation to my son on his birthday kept the switch from taking place. As Bill and Ida can attest with their many days a year logged on my boat, sometimes you just never know.
We started the day with streamers, only to bale, due to the sweating efforts required. Bill, a long time fan of nymphing was ready for the change. New location, and a few casts later landed Bill his best brown trout ever on a 5wt. While this bruiser not only mandated a fight of the reel, we couldn’t help but smile at our hot weather fortune!
