The Best of Times

I had the privilege of guiding attorney David from New York City for the first time a bunch of years ago. As part of the McKay group, David has returned to fish with us year after year, and our friendship has grown accordingly. So, what a delight it was to guide David today—first for a couple of hours of steelhead fishing and then for Chinook salmon. I loved the way David let the river come to him—no rush, no drive to prove this or that—just the two of us luxuriating in the splendor of fall color on the Muskegon, replete with salmon and steelhead coursing the river. Enriching the day was our spirited conversation about life with its challenges and highs, psychology, theology, and yes, even politics—all of which yielded insights, a book recommendation, and, of course, a load of laughs. In short, a most delightful day for us both. Thanks a ton, David!
