The Willets were back for their annual family spring steelhead outing. Conditions certainly were different than past years with our late arrival of Spring. However, the Willets never seem to care–family & fishing no-matter the conditions! I must say, their motto is pretty cool. Having fished many times with the standard deep-water nymphing technique in our normal spring flows, our low-clear water offered a chance to try something new. Today would be Darryls first exposure to swinging flies. Determination and a carefree attitude brought him his first on the swing–to my surprise, a beautiful lake run brown. Tomorrow the steelhead make it all the way to the net.
