“Some Days Are Diamonds…”

Yes, and “Some Are Stones,” but not today! An absolutely amazing day of fly fishing steelhead with attorney Pat and retired detective Terry: Chamber of Commerce weather, clearing water, and eager steelhead that sucked egg and stone fly patterns all day.  Our fishing companion was a juvenile bald eagle, perched no more than 60 yards away, that seemingly kept eying the fish the guys would hook up. I told the guys that when it flew away, I was going to snap away, which, when it lifted off, I realized it was about to dive bomb a trout. Sure enough, down it dropped, seconds later neatly snatching the trout with its talons.  We witness ospreys successfully fishing the Muskegon, but this my first time witnessing an eagle pulling off the feat.  All in all, today was one amazing experience with two great guys who let it fly conversationally on every “No/No” topic—politics, religion, same sex marriage, euthanasia, foreign policy, pending Michigan legislation, and more.  As Terry opined, “We talked about every forbidden topic except sex!” Indeed, we did, guys. Thanks for one superb day on the MO!
