Smallie Parade Continues

Captain Don fired these pics and more of smallies coming to his boat on poppers today. Chunky, well conditioned smallmouth that rip on 6 wt rods are the order of the day. In short, quite a show.

We anticipate this fishery holding up well into September, so if top water action is your game (and who doesn’t love it when bass blow up your bug or trout sip your dry fly), get out and experience the terrific fly rod fishery that’s happening right now. Then, too, fly rodding smallmouth bass is a great way to learn to fly fish. The fish cooperate all day and by days end, even if you’ve never handled a fly rod, you’ll be well on your way to laying out sufficient line to experience success with or without a guide.

Blessed we are, too, with the MO’s trout looking up to munch on caddis—with salmon and steelhead soon to join in the fun!
