Second Day Realities–Summer Smallmouth on the Muskegon

The realities of summer fly fishing are that some days are just simply better than others. Today would prove that without question. Bright sunny skies and high pressure made for a fantastic day on the Muskegon River, but left Ben wondering where did all the smallmouth bass go? Unlike yesterday where cloud-cover gave the bass no fear, today most of the bass could be seen with only their tails protruding from under the cover of big logs and weed growth. While these realities are a little tough for a 13yr old boy to digest, but they are indeed lessons to learn. Thankfully not all the bass hid from Ben. Here Ben poses one of his well earned smallmouth from today.
