Winter is upon us. Our first Winter Storm Warning is in effect and with it I think it’s time to embrace “winter steelhead season”. December has proven to be our best month for swinging flies for a second year in a row. And with Peter’s tremendous parting gift I’m sure you can easily understand why! Congrats Peter—truly awesome steelhead!
As we swing into winter, conditions below the surface remain ideal for the two-hander. Look for the soft water edges to focus the grabs as we continue to drop water temperature.
Pack a couple extra layers with the arrival of winter—it’s oh so worth it!
