“Let’s Try for Steelhead!”

Long time customer, Jennifer, wished to fish exclusively for steelhead today, which, of course, didn’t disappoint me! So fish hard she did with her Dad, Paul. Five steelhead hooked, four lost, and the skipper Jennifer poses was the one that found the net. Although the swings and misses ¬†weren’t what we had hoped for, it proved a heartening day on the river with some solid steelhead action as the fall steelhead run is now underway.

For Jennifer, her steelhead was her first ever so “Mission Accomplished,” regardless of its diminutive size. So, we were thrilled for her and eager for more as the day played out.

Some late run Chinook salmon are spawning, but for most everyone on the water today, the name of the game is fall steelhead, which should continue well into December.

So, congratulations, Jennifer! Here’s to many more dime bright fall steelhead in your future!
