Some days try as you might–steelhead fishing is really not on your terms! Today was one of those days when I just wanted it bad. Its been a fairly tough week and it was just time for the river to give it back. Yeah right–this year the river hasn’t been about that one bit. Joining me today was Gene from Chicago, a very seasoned angler. Multiple line system changes, tip changes, and a bunch of flies, it just wasn’t happening–no matter what. Thankfully during a good bout of laughter (and likely a much needed distraction) the tables turned and success was had. Congratulations Gene, I look forward to our next opportunity to swing flies!
