Last day of Summer

Today day marks the last official day of summer as Fall officially begins tomorrow. I had the opportunity to go fishing this morning personally and despite the relatively low odds of success with my two-hander I was simply happy to swing a fly and fish the way I love. My second cast of my third run of the morning greeted me with a surprise but familiar deep pull. After a few nice jumps and good fight my first fall steelhead was landed….a unicorn for sure 😊.

Migratory fish numbers remain low despite cool river temperatures. Trout fishing is a viable option until the numbers of migratory fish increase.
