He’s Baaaaaaack!!

As some you who fly fish with us at RiverQuest Charters or who follow our Fishing Reports or the RiverQuest/Muskegon River Lodge Newsletter, RiverQuest guide and my best fishing buddy, Don Graham, underwent significant surgery this winter—surgery that kept him off the river all winter long.  Now for a fly fishing steelhead addict like Don, that was agony with a capital “A.”  But…great news, he’s doing well and yesterday, he dusted off his A-Game as he spent the day in my boat nymphing for chrome.

And what a delightful time it was as we probed the Muskegon River with guide flies of Don’s design (some of which I tied myself since I’m returning to my 1980’s fly tying days).  Stone fly and leech patterns carried the day as chubby rainbows and steelhead kept us busy all day long.   Here’s a fattie sample and a beautiful hen Don brought to hand.

All in all, it was so good to see Don back in action even as he prepped for hosting RiverQuest clients yet this weekend.  Welcome back, Don!
