RiverQuest Captain Don Graham and I finally were able to find time to hit the water for some smallmouth bass fly rodding. Great fishing this morning with the bass busting top water poppers and Don’s creative streamer ties underneath—hot off his fly tying bench. Truly, smallmouth on the fly rod are great fun and a Michigan river fishery that all too often is overlooked. We can’t recommend it highly enough: reliable action, a wonderful introduction to fly casting and fly fishing, and hard fighting sport fish. Can’t be beat!
