Great Fly Fishing; Wise Counsel

Guiding brings graces us with long term friendships, and today exemplified that fact big time as Rusty and David gave me way more than I gave them.  Yes, the fly fishing was excellent with steelhead, resident trout, and salmon hookups on the long rods with a good number finding the net; and yes, the conversation and banter were lively, entertaining, and insightful (especially re: the current national political scene).  But, most of all, I so appreciated the life experiences and wisdom the guys shared so generously with me today. These men have faced any number of challenges throughout their lives, and with the help of God, their wives, family members, and friends have faced those “Whoa!” moments in their lives with courage and determined resolve only to emerge the better for it all. As a result, they were able to give much to me today for which I stand most grateful.

Here’s Rusty with a silver rocket that kicked off our morning right off the bat. David poses his “Last Cast” hen Chinook that took a shine to his Antron Hex point fly.

Thanks guys for one terrific day on the Mighty MO!
