Cold Front Smallmouth

Somedays it all about the weather. Last night a fairly significant cold front swept through the region. No, the water temperature didn’t drop, no the river didn’t fluctuate, really other than a noticeably cooler air mass the barometric pressure was the only significant shift. What does this mean for the fishing? Well, today the morning bite was pretty non-existent. But, this afternoon after the weather had settled the fish really turned on. Was this predictable? Maybe, but at the very least it can be saved in the mental data bank for next time.

Pictured is Bruce with a great smallmouth from this afternoon.
