Burrrr, the last few days on the river have been pretty chilly! While yesterday mornings sunshine created a beautiful back drop for our steelhead fishing it was quickly replace by the clouds in the afternoon and a chilly breeze today. The bite was soft both today and yesterday, but with the big Artic chill on the way this evening, the steelhead weren’t quite as moody. Pictured is Dr. Robert Eastway with a beautiful winter buck.

Great to be back on the river today! Joining me was my dad (Capt Tom) for some scouting before some up-coming trips. The rivers back-drop couldn’t have been more spectacular–heavy snow from last nights storm bent limbs of trees and blanketed the already white forest with more white–its definitely a winter wonderland! Pictured is one of two crimson males from today.

Happy New Year! I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays with their friends and families. I am hoping to hit the river this week prior to our first show of the season in Indianapolis, Indiana this weekend, but I have a bunch of stuff to due prior to leaving!

Water levels are starting to fall from the melt over the New Years Holiday and I am sure we have ushered some new chrome upstream. With any luck we will try to get this January blog chromed up soon!
