Exciting

Warm temperatures and thunderstorms put a serious dent in our snow pack. The Muskegon is forecasted to get pretty big for a few days. How big remains to be seen.

Long overdue are quality trout regulations on the Muskegon River. Biggining April 1, 2019 all resident trout need to be 15” to keep from Croton Dam all the way to Big Blue all year. While this isn’t entirely perfect, its a far cry from where we’ve been for many years. Combine this with an increase in brown trout stocking (10,000 per year to now 100,000 per year) the Muskegon’s  trout fishing is very bright!

Pictured is Greg with a fantastic brown trout that ate a small leech pattern yesterday.
