Duet

Choral director, Dr. Bob Oster, and his best bud, bamboo rod maker, Ron Barch, struck some sweet chords today on the Muskegon River. With the river flow abating, off color water increasingly clear, and summer temps and sun marking the day, the guys flat-out had a terrific time hooking and landing steelhead. Bob and Ron have fished with me for years, yet every time they get on the water together, it’s as if the fly fishing is a brand new, exciting experience for them (and me).  I love people who are passionate about our fishery and our sport, and certainly that’s Bob and Ron to the max.  Friendship, great conversation, and lots of laughs with steelhead supplying the action—that was our day.
