Spring Fever!

Spectacularly gorgeous day on the Muskegon River chasing steelhead with Captain Don Graham today! 5,100 cfs of flow isn’t exactly ideal for steelheading or anything else other than a quick trip downstream, but we both were into fish. The one I pose here testifies, as do others now showing up, that the spring run is beginning to build. The hen exemplifies the excellent condition of the fish and their heft, a trend upward we began to witness first three years ago. Other RiverQuest guides’ customers were smiling today as well since the steelhead cooperated with them, too. All of which fires us all up big time for what we hope will be a terrific season of spring steelheading on one of Michigan’s great rivers, the Muskegon.
